From Inside the Hive - Guest Podcast

Catch Margaret’s appearance as a podcast guest

I had the extreme pleasure of recording a podcast with Quiet The Hive’s Founder Jane Galloway.  Quiet the Hive is a community helping women identify the life and career they want and then arming them with the toolkit and confidence to go and get it. Jane and I met through the f:Entrepreneur #ialso campaign both being recipients of the 2020 list of inspiring female business leaders.

In this hour long podcast From Inside The Hive, I walk through the origins of Cittadina Marketing and all that we aim to do for our customers.  We aim of course to give an ease of project management across a broad spectrum of digital marketing services but Jane so kindly pointed out that truly what we aim to do is give our customers the gift of time.

What we spoke about

The conversation then pivoted into a few of my own reflections that I have for learning to be in touch with myself.  First off, I discuss the idea of not being your own barrier.  There are so many external barriers out there which seem daunting so that we sometimes don’t realise we are the ones putting up even more barriers. But we must knock these down to be prepared for the external ones. In digital marketing channels, consider your social media plan.  There is nothing to stop you from creating a great go to market plan on a few select social media platforms to help build and connect with your audience - though the thought of putting a plan seems daunting.  But the external barriers are already there that we need to capture - how the algorithms work, what collaborators are the right people for partnerships.  We need to get your business ready for those real problems the digital platforms may arise, but setting up a plan, yes, takes time, but once you have it those external barriers are so much smaller.

Then I discuss my ideas around reflecting on your own data. When I work with our customers we nearly always start with the data of the marketing ecosystem to date.  Last year, I considered, why don’t I apply this to myself? Once we take a moment to sit and think all that we accomplished, it makes it a bit easier to go forward into something new.

Your personal QBR Framework

Jane came up with a great framework to have a Quarterly Business Review (QBR) for yourself and in the podcast she sets out the few questions you can ask yourself to see  how you are doing.

It was a really marvellous experience that I truly enjoyed and was even more pleased to discuss our marketing mentoring services, a mix of marketing training and business champion. Get in touch if you are a small business owner and looking for a Growth Champion.  You and I will meet on a regular basis from weekly, bi-weekly or monthly to help give you the frameworks for digital marketing, create a proper plan for you to execute and for you to have one more person rooting for you!  We also have one off sessions for those interested in an audit or a workshop.

Thank you!
